Welcome to the home of Merrimack Valley Youth Baseball and Softball

Our goal is to offer youth sports to players aged 4-16 in the Merrimack Valley Region. We strive to provide the opportunity to play baseball and softball in a fun, safe and organized league.

It is our goal to teach the basic fundamentals and skills of the sport in a safe and nurturing environment; where all children will have the opportunity to play regardless of skill level. The development of sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, courage and respect for authority are core concepts of the organization’s goals.

Our objective is to implant firmly in the children of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority, so that they may be well adjusted, stronger and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy and trustworthy citizens.

Cal Ripken T-Ball: Introduces young players to the basics of baseball in a fun and instructional setting, focusing on skill development and building a love for the game through non-competitive, coach-pitched at-bats.

Cal Ripken Rookie Division: Designed for players transitioning from T-Ball, emphasizing fundamentals while introducing competitive elements and game strategy, with players now facing live pitching from coaches.

Cal Ripken Minor Division: Continues skill development with a greater emphasis on game situations, player positions, and teamwork in a more competitive environment, featuring player-pitched games and an introduction to basic game strategies.

Cal Ripken Major Division: Further refines players' skills, introduces more complex game strategies, and emphasizes sportsmanship in a competitive setting with full player-pitched games, advancing defensive and offensive plays.

Babe Ruth Baseball (13-16 Division): Prepares players for the regulation-sized field with a focus on advanced skills, strategic play, and teamwork, fostering a deeper understanding of the game through full-scale, competitive play with regulation rules.

Softball Program

Keeping softball fun, especially in the early stages of youth softball-is a primary concern of Babe Ruth League's Softball Division.

Babe Ruth Softball 10U: Continues skill progression with player pitching, emphasizing the fundamentals of softball and introducing strategic elements such as base running, stealing, and situational play. Games become more competitive, encouraging a balance of competition and skill development.

Babe Ruth Softball 12U: Advances players' skills and introduces more complex game strategies, emphasizing both individual development and team dynamics. Players at this level experience competitive play with regulation rules, refining their pitching, hitting, and fielding abilities.

Babe Ruth Softball Seniors/16U: Provides a competitive environment for players, further refining skills, introducing advanced techniques such as bunting, sliding, and more complex defensive plays. Athletes at this level are prepared for the nuances of higher-level play, participating in full-scale, competitive games.
